Media Communications
"Empower truth with evidence to shaping perceptions and drive dialogues."
With a keen eye for compelling narratives, I develop media communication strategies that engage and inspire action. By harnessing the art of storytelling, my method emphasizes building enduring connections between civil society and their communities. I ensure that every message is not only heard but also felt, while fostering strong relationships with the media—the fourth estate of civil society.

Evidence-based Press Conference
In a divided and fragmented society, evidence-based information acts as a vital tool for revealing the truth in the midst of overwhelming disinformation and misinformation, supported by the media -- the fourth estate of civil society -- and numerous civil society organizations. By utilizing scientific research and findings, both qualitative and quantitative, we can inspire policymakers and communities to engage in informed collective action.
Throughout the past nine years, I have led my team through numerous press events in both indoor and outdoor environments, taking on officer and managerial roles. My responsibilities encompassed a range of tasks, such as event preparation, media coordination, logistics management, and conducting follow-up interviews. These events demanded thorough research in collaboration with scholars and professionals, yielding substantial news coverage and providing new perspectives for civil society, often clarifying misconceptions and misinformation.
Local and Overseas Media Tour
“Show, don’t tell” is the fundamental principle in communications. One effective way to convey impactful stories is by organizing media tours, enabling journalists to experience the situation firsthand. Despite the challenges of logistics and preparation, you and the journalists can work together to reveal the truth about pollution and motivate change.
For instance, during my tenure as a Campaign and Communications Manager at The Green Earth from 2020 to 2021, I led my team in tackling a significant amount of shooting waste discovered in the Shing Mun Reservoir and the adjacent catchwater at a Gun Club. We coordinated several media tours to the contaminated site, which included district council members. Through our persistence, the Gun Club pledged to address the issue by 2021.
In 2016, while serving as the communications lead for a climate and energy project in Hong Kong, we organized a media tour to Seoul, where we advocated for energy self-sufficiency to reduce reliance on nuclear power, a concern heightened by the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster.
During our visit, we engaged with NGOs, community members, and the Seoul government to share insights and learn how renewable energy and energy-saving campaigns can inspire citizens to take climate action and lower carbon intensity.
A few months after the media coverage was published, the government began researching and piloting offshore solar panels in one of Hong Kong's reservoirs.
Opinion and Column Articles
Opinion and column articles serve as valuable assets for public discourse. They are particularly effective in responding to policies or critical events, igniting discussions, and facilitating exchanges of ideas among diverse stakeholders. Additionally, they engage a broad audience, providing ample food for thought.
I authored an article for "Mingpao," a prominent newspaper in Hong Kong, titled "Hong Kong's Countryside is Truly Beautiful, But Why Is It So Dirty?" In this piece, I shared my observations in country parks, where I noticed thousands of discarded beverage bottles. This observation sparked a conversation about global policies related to the responsibilities of beverage manufacturers.
In 2021, I wrote an opinion piece for the South China Morning Post that tackled the issue of waste trade in Hong Kong, a city known as a major player in global trash trading. The article emphasized recent trends showing how Hong Kong has been importing and re-exporting plastic waste from the Global North to the Global South, particularly after China enforced its waste import ban.
